Returning to Self (remembrance)

Whatever you have forgotten, you can remember. Whatever you have buried you can unearth. If you are willing to look deep into your own nature, if you are willing to peel away the layers of not-self you have adopted in making your way through the tribulations of life, you will find that your true self is not as far removed as you think. Meredith Jordan

Without God, your life can never be meaningful because God is the Whole and you are just a fragment. You are just an image. You are just a line of poetry. You are just a lyric— alone, you will never compose the whole song. With the whole song significance is published because significance lies in relationship to the whole. Remember this! And remember who you are! For you were once citizens of heaven whose address was temporarily changed to E-a-r-t-h. You were once an arms bearer of love. You were once a highly ranked officer in heavens administration of divine health. You were once a bridge that reached the state of gratitude. You were once a beautiful sentence written in the diary of God.

But now, you have closed your eyes to hope. Now you have forgotten the way to your destiny. Why is the bridge broken? Why is your energy lacking grace? Why has your heart stopped feeding you love intravenously? Why is your inner-well filled with guilt and apathy? What happened to your inner-child? What happened to your song? What happened to the heavenly power God gave you to create, to build, to dream, to heal, to give, to receive, to love, to worship, to bless, to honor Self? Why can’t you remember who you are in the empty room? Why do you keep missing your moment of visitation? Today we are returning to self (remembrance).

Father God, forgive us! Forgive us for making such weak use of your imperial power. Forgive us for dropping our association with heaven. And forgive us for losing faith in who we are.

Father, forgive us for interfering with the two worlds meeting. For it is written: that what is in heaven is to be reflected on earth, because we are citizens of both countries — heaven and earth.

Father, let us move forward in the knowledge that the only thing that exists between heaven and earth is fear. Bless us with the patience to exist on the boundary where the two realms meet. Open our eyes so that we might see that we belong to life; that we belong to Eternity; that through Christ Jesus we have a heritage of immortality; that we are ambassadors of heaven and earth; that we are a significant line of poetry in your universal poem.

Returning to Gratitude (saying thank you to an empty room)

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful. Buddha

The sun has risen and God’s fragrance is coming from many many unknown places. You inhale and are filled with it. And the second breath is deeper than the first. The dark night of the soul has disappeared and hope has sprung eternal. Now, my prayer is for you to remember this moment the third time it happens and every moment after that. The next time it comes, whether today, tomorrow, next week or next month, enjoy it, feel thankful, experience the meaning of gratitude, and know it will come again. And when it goes away (because everything in this realm is recycled) say thank you to an empty room. For it will come and go many more times before it takes up permanent residence in your heart. It will come and go many times. But you cannot continue to repeat the same mistakes again and again. Next time, be a little more alert. Next time be a little more patient. Next time be a little more loving. Next time be a little more humble. Next time be a little more silent. Next time be a little more faithful. Next time be a little less full. Next time be grateful. Next time, say thank you to an empty room because you have not earned it. And God is a gift you have not earned. Light is a gift you have not earned. Love is a gift you have not earned. And life itself is a gift you have not earned. So the next time it comes. . . The dark soul of the night will not last forever because the morning will come closer. Yet when the morning comes closer, the dark night will still be there.  But at least you didn’t die. At least you are still alive to experience the morning. The darkness may never completely go away. Yet your mornings will get longer. Today we are returning to gratitude.

Father God, today we are returning to gratitude. Today we are saying thank you to an empty room. Today we are relaxing into the dark night of the soul again. Today we rejoice in the understanding that the morning is closer and longer than the night.

Father, we have missed it! We have missed You! Teach us the secret of enjoying a gift so your abundant life may settle permanently in our souls. Teach us, so that when morning comes. . .We will understand it is one of many gifts we did not earn.

Returning to Health

Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God, and value it next to a good conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of; a blessing that money cannot buy. Izaak Walton

The well of tradition, scripture, knowledge – the well that you get through heritage – can help you only so far. It can quench your thirst momentarily, but again your thirst returns. Until you find the well within your own being, no outer wells are going to sustain you. The Bible is a well. The Torah is a well. The Quran is a well. The Bhagavad Gita is a well. But the word of God is a hydrosphere that includes even the water vapor from the well. But you have ignored this life as if it were a wishing well. You have chosen security over certainty: Tradition over treasure, religion over relationship, comfort over covenant, water over wisdom; a well over the will of God. You are trying to draw from the world’s well and God is asking you for a drink. For Jehovah Rapha (God our healer) has poured himself into you. And now you are boundless. Now you are no longer just a Giver for within you lies the capacity to be a gift. Now you are no longer just a Lover for within you rests the power to become love itself. Now you are no longer in need of healing because you are capable of divine Health. Today we are returning to health. Today God is asking you for a drink from your inner-well so that he may pour back into you the memory of eternal Eden.

Father God, today we are returning to your eternal well of health. Today we are setting aside the well of tradition and running after heavens treasure. As long as your breath continues to sustain me, allow me to be a Gift not simply a giver to my neighbor. Allow my eyes to see the hovering aura of my ways not just the lingering error. Allow me to be a light standing in front of my life so no moment is missed.

Father, let me look to you! Let me remember eternal Eden! Let me look to my inner-well. Let me look to divine health. Let me embrace it! And praise You for it!

Returning to Love

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. Rumi

You are at sea in a dense fog. What seemed like love has become a tangible white darkness. What seemed like love has shut you in. Now you are like a great ship lost at sea, tense and anxious, groping your way towards any shore. You have waited with beating heart (for what seems like an eternity) for something to happen . . . for love to happen . . . for love to find you . . . for you to find love. You have cried out to God. You have shouted to the heavens. You have searched every corner of the empty room, but still you feel used, abused, unloved and unwanted. Today we are returning to Love. Languages differ, words differ, but the language of love is universal. It is universal because it originates from God. And the moment you choose to love God, you become a lover of all things great and small. This is why you can love your enemy because the love of your enemy tastes the same as the love of your dearest friend. Yes, true love runs deep! And the conditioning of love goes very deep. The conditioning of love becomes your blood, your bone, and your marrow. You were not delivered to this earth to be a Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist. You were to open yourself up and become love. Today reclaim your whole history and return to Love.

Father God, we apologize for our selfishness. We ask your forgiveness for using heaven as an excuse not to love our neighbor. Help me to become an unprejudiced soul whose heart is sustained by the blood of your love. Provide me with a new taste, a new vision, a new treasure. Allow me to become like an ocean breeze that refreshes the earth for you have opened the door nobody else can open nor close.

Father, today I will drop all dust and allow the mirror to be clear. Today I will be in continuous celebration of Love. Today I return to you. Today I return to Love.

Returning . . .

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. Isaiah 30:15 AMP

In the spiritual realm each experience knows no boundary. Each experience is oceanic. Each experience goes on and on, and you never come to a point where you can say, “Now I have arrived.” For you are always arriving. You are always returning. The more you travel on the path of God, the closer you are to your beginning. The sun does not come closer, but your life is filled with greater light. The river does not come closer, but your life is overflowing with greater peace and stillness. The flower does not come closer, but your life becomes more fragrant. The birds do not come closer, but your heart is full of joyful worship and song. Your life changes into a more blissful existence; it becomes a benediction – not just to you, but to the whole existence. Today we are returning to God.

Father God,

Today we return to you because we are lost without you. We stand before you willing to have a miracle. Willing to remember forgiveness. Willing to accept Your strength to do so.

Father, we are willing to let go of our small kingdoms for unknown heavens. Willing to let go of religious poverty and embrace whispers of spiritual poetry. Willing to adopt change over chariots. Willing to become bigger. Willing to be closer. Willing to surrender this person. Willing to walk the eternal pilgrimage with You. Willing to re-turn.
