Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it flows the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23
For as the heart is either pure or corrupt, so is the whole course of man’s life. Proverbs 4:23 Geneva Study Bible
Look at the image of the water you are seeing. Notice the thoughts you are thinking. Notice the emotions you are feeling. Can you sense the peace? Can you see yourself on the beach? Can you feel the wet sand underneath your feet? Can you hear the ebb and flow of the water? Can you smell the scent of the ocean? Can you feel the soft summer breeze? Our minds are powerful.
Quantum physics teach us that our minds keep meticulous records of every occurrence we have ever experienced from birth to the present. Every thought. Every sound. Every emotion. Every image is recorded in detail and purposefully stored in each and every cell. Which means every cell in your body is a biographical sketch of your life. And it is from this cellular autobiography that the issues of life flow.
For as the heart is either pure or corrupt, so is the whole course of man’s life. Proverbs 4:23
There is in the word of God a proper remedy for all diseases of the body and soul. Guard thy heart with all diligence. To guard your heart with all diligence literally means it is your responsibility to set strict boundaries around the gateways to your soul. It also indicates that you must keep your heart from doing hurt, and from getting hurt. A good reason is given; because out of it flows the issues of life.
Your five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch are gateways to the soul. They are your Global Positioning system as well as the Communication system which helps you navigate the physical world. They do not prevent anything. They do not change anything. They simply record everything. Every moment of joy. Every moment of pain. Every smile. Every tear. Every dream. Every conversation. Every word is recorded.
In essence, your words create the whole course for your life. They are either pure or corrupt. They either build or tear down. They either bless or curse. You must always be careful about the words you speak to yourself and others. You must guard against the words you permit to touch your soul. You must guard your soul with diligence.
But why are so many words needed? Why are you allowing the words of others to paint your sky blue? What words have been written on the walls of your heart since childhood? What words have entered the door to your soul? Why can’t you see the beauty without speaking them?
